ok…I have never tried the online dating crap til recently so i don’t know much about it. I am extremely nervous. I met a guy who seems amazing, but i am nervous because i have heard a lot stories about this kind of thing where the person always seems amazing and then turns out to be a psychopath. i been talking 2 this guy for 3 days and he is already calling me baby and wanting 2 jump on plane 2 meet me. (he’s from hollywood & im in canada). he gave me his cell number so i can text him too. is there anyway to get info about this guy? maybe use his cell number? Im afraid 2 text him, cuz my cell number will show up on his phone and I just dont want to make a mistake i cant fix if he turns out to be psycho. heeellpp!!!!!!!!!
ok, I didn’t say I was actually going to meet him now or text. I just said he wants 2. All I am asking is how to find out more about him.

You have been talking for THREE DAYS and he wants to fly out to meet you. That is NOT normal. Major alarm bells, hear them!!
Oh by the way, EVERY guy seems “amazing” online. That’s the whole allure of it. You need to have sustained contact for a lot longer than three days to know the true measure of a person.

If you do meet him, stay out in a public place with plenty of people around – DO NOT invite him to your place.
Leave a diary including every little detail of your communication in a draw in your room.
Tell a few people where you are going, who you are seeing and what time you will be coming home.
Don’t take any chances with a stranger from a different country!

and yeah distance is always a factor? will he move to ur place?or u to his?
online things die out fast coz u cant be touched and touch other party………

if u do meet have a buddy/friend nearby to see if anythi ng goes wrong………have ur cell with u……..
and yeah tell ur senior members of family/friends family where ur going/etc….

Online dating is perfectly safe, no more dangerous then meeting someone in person, you just have to be smart about it. You can meet a total psycho who wants to get married and move in the day after you meet them in person too, because maybe he needs a place to stay, or is desperate or any number of reasons. People have all kinds of motives. When someone moves too fast either in person or online it is always a warning sign. Do not meet someone so fast from so far away like that. If you don’t feel comfortable giving him your phone number than don’t. When you meet a person that you like, and it goes the right way you would not think twice about texting because you would have enough information about this person to feel comfortable about texting. I would just tell him that you are not in any hurry, and you need to get to know him better before texting or even thinking about meeting him. If he has a problem with this then drop him.
